Travel in Thailand | Wat Rong Khun Unseen Thailand

Wat Rong Khun Unseen Thailand

Wat Rong Khun is also known as the White Temple. Whereas most temples visited by tourists have a history dating back several centuries, this magnificent place of worship was built recently. It is the realization of a dream for Thailands famous artist, Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed and supervised the construction of this magnificent temple with its many white statues of figures based on religious beliefs. Construction began in 1998 and be completed in 2008. In addition, there is a gallery nearby exhibit his paintings.

The city of Chiang Rai in northern Thailand is one of the last areas where art and traditional Thai culture flourish. Located near the city of Chiang Rai, about 5 kilometers south, is the magnificent Wat Rong Khun temple or white. The White Hall in northern Thailand has become a national monument and as one of the most recognizable temples in the country, attracting an increasing number of visitors each year.

This trip is not my first visit to the White Temple, but his striking white brilliance always brings a deep sense of me when I arrive and leave the vehicle.

Wat Rong Khun is unique from other temples in that it was built entirely of white with bright sparks reflections mirror glass mosaics embedded in white plaster. The temple is the brainchild of Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat, one of the most renowned artists from Thailand, who wanted to build a temple in white to signify purity of Buddha. The artist continues to put his religious belief and the desire to enrich Buddhism in Thailand in his conception of contemporary art. The construction of the White Temple is the master work Khun Chalemchai, he designates as an offering to Buddha and his beloved country.
