          This wonderful bay on the west side of Phi Phi Ley is known worldwide for its exquisite beaches and truly postcard perfect scenery of the jungle covered cliffs. Coral reefs and large at the mouth of the bay exciting underwater world and is the most popular for scuba diving.

The film "The Beach"

          Leonardo DiCaprio famous Hollywood superstars came and shot the movie "The Beach" in Loch Samah and Maya Bay that you get from this story about the young man's desire to find meaning in the journey during the South-East Asia. Although it is not applauding the film stressed Phi Phi in the greatness of the world stage Phi Phi Maya Bay.

Diving.

       There is no doubt that many only come for some of the best Thailand diving in the teaming warm waters around the famous dive sites of Koh Bida, Hin Muang, Phi Phi Ley, and shark point. As dive sites can be reached within 10 minutes from the pier so it is no surprise there are many excellent PADI dive schools on the island.

         If you came to Phi Phi Island in 1980's you would remember arriving by longtail boat and seeing the thatched rustic Cabana Bungalows commanding an awe inspiring view of Tonsai bay. A lot has changed but the Cabana Hotel still occupies the best position on the island

       The fastest way to get to Phi Phi island is to take the 45 minute taxi down from Phuket airport to Rasada Pier to pick up the ferries to Phi Phi Island

         Phi Phi Nightlife surprises many with how much fun is had either at the beach, resort or out in the village. Everybody walks, everybody dresses for the beach in the evening and so the atmosphere is relaxed.

One institution not to be missed is the Phi Phi Reggae Bar which is a whole lot of fun and appeared as the back drop for another movie the irreverent "Dirty Sanchez" set in the Thai Boxing ring.          If you were here before the Tsunami, many would remember the longest serving resort on the island, PP Charlies. With 70 bungalows on the world class Loh Dalum beach, PP Charlies offered the Backpacker and traveler ideal. Inexpensive rooms, a great beach location, beach music, and a bar that has heard more stories than most of Phi Phi Bars would have in a lifetime.
